Torque Flow Pumps for Slurry Transfer
Torque flow pumps, also known as recessed impeller pumps, are arguably the most versatile answer to solids-laden fluid transfer. The impeller sits recessed into the back of the casing, almost entirely out of the flow path. Instead of the impeller vanes directly contacting the fluid, a vortex is created that carries solids through the pump body with minimal physical contact.

Non Clog Centrifugal Pumps for Solids Handling
A non-clog centrifugal pump takes a different route to the same goal. Rather than recessing the impeller entirely, it uses a semi-open or fully open impeller with wide, rounded vanes and generous clearances, allowing moderate solids content to pass through without lodging between the impeller and casing.
These pumps strike a useful middle ground: they retain more of the hydraulic efficiency of a conventional centrifugal design while still tolerating grit, small debris, and fibrous content that a clean-water pump cannot.
